FAQ On: Mesotherapy
Below you’ll find the questions we’re asked most often, but if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Mesotherapy is a non-invasive treatment that involves injecting a mixture of nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals and amino acids, directly into the scalp. These injections stimulate microcirculation, strengthen hair follicles and promote hair growth, helping to prevent hair loss and improve hair quality.
Mesotherapy helps to slow down hair loss by nourishing the hair follicles and improving the health of the scalp. Another benefit is that it stimulates the growth of new hair, which is stronger and healthier. The nutrients improve the quality and texture of the hair, making it stronger, shinier and more resistant to damage.
Mesotherapy is generally not very painful. The injections are administered using fine needles at a shallow depth into the scalp. Some patients may experience mild discomfort or a tingling sensation during the treatment, but the use of local anaesthetics can minimise these sensations.
The amino acids used in hair mesotherapy are essential for hair growth and strengthening. Among the main amino acids frequently used are arginine, which stimulates blood circulation in the scalp, promoting the supply of nutrients to the hair follicles; cysteine, which promotes the production of keratin, a key protein for the structure and strength of the hair; and glutamine, which supports cell regeneration and the health of the hair follicle.
The results of hair mesotherapy tend to be gradual. Improvements in hair quality can be noticed after just a few sessions, whilst a reduction in hair loss and stimulation of growth become apparent in the weeks that follow. To maintain the results, it may be necessary to undergo maintenance treatments once or twice a year.
