Laser treatments
Aesthetic medicine, TrichologyLaser therapy is a medical and cosmetic technique that uses the energy of laser light produced by specialised equipment to treat a wide range of conditions, both medical and aesthetic. The term ‘laser’ is an acronym for ‘Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation’ and refers to a highly concentrated beam of light capable of penetrating skin tissue and stimulating a series of biological responses. Depending on the therapeutic objective, lasers can have different wavelengths, intensities and modes of use.

Below you’ll find the questions we’re asked most often, but if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Laser therapy is a medical treatment that uses laser light to stimulate tissue and promote healing, relieve pain or treat specific cosmetic conditions. Depending on the type of laser used, the therapy can be employed to treat inflammation and injuries, rejuvenate the skin, remove blemishes and scars, remove unwanted hair or reduce visible capillaries, and treat acne, wrinkles and other skin problems.
The main contraindications include pregnancy (particularly during the first few months); the presence of a pacemaker or metal implants in the areas to be treated; epilepsy; active infections or skin lesions in the area to be treated; and the use of medications that increase the skin’s sensitivity to laser treatment (such as certain antibiotics or acne treatments).
The cost of laser therapy varies depending on the area to be treated and the type of treatment, whether cosmetic or medical. A series of sessions is often required to achieve the best results. AraMedica offers a range of packages designed to reduce the overall cost.
Most laser treatments cause little or no pain. Some patients report a sensation of warmth or a tingling sensation during treatment, which varies depending on the type of laser and the area being treated. However, many modern laser devices are equipped with cooling systems to minimise discomfort.
Before the treatment, it is recommended that you avoid exposure to the sun or using sunbeds in the weeks leading up to it, and do not use self-tanning products or any products that may irritate the skin. After treatment, it is important to avoid the sun and apply a high SPF sun cream for at least two weeks; do not expose the treated area to intense heat (saunas, hot baths) for a few days; use moisturisers to aid skin healing and reduce dryness.
