Biography

Dr Alessia Demma is a Biologist and Nutritionist, with a background in Nutritional Sciences for Human Health and experience gained in a variety of settings, ranging from clinical nutrition to nutritional rehabilitation.
Throughout her career, she has specialised in assessing nutritional status and body composition, taking part in initial consultations and follow-up appointments, collecting clinical and dietary histories, and developing personalised nutritional plans. Whilst training in the Department of Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition at the Vito Fazzi Hospital in Lecce, she gained experience with a range of clinical conditions, managing nutritional programmes linked to bariatric surgery and the rehabilitation of patients with eating disorders.
She has also gained experience in geriatric nutritional care, specialising in managing the dietary needs of elderly patients and situations requiring specific nutritional support.
Alongside her clinical work, from 2024 to 2026 she collaborated with MITT Medical & Scientific Learning on the scientific planning of CME training events, overseeing programme design, coordinating speakers and lecturers, and reviewing scientific content and materials.
Her approach considers the individual as a whole, taking into account physiological and pathological conditions, dietary habits, lifestyle and physical activity. Through individual assessment and the use of tools such as bioimpedance analysis and skinfold measurements, she helps to develop personalised nutritional plans, with a particular focus on ensuring the long-term sustainability of the recommendations.
