Virginia Ventura

Biography

A specialist in Dermatology and Venereology, Dr Ventura gained her experience at leading Italian and international universities and hospitals.
She completed her specialisation at the Dermatology Section of the Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery at the University of Naples Federico II, focusing in particular on the treatment of hidradenitis suppurativa through a 52-week real-world multicentre study on the use of secukinumab.

As a dermatologist in Lecce, during her training she enhanced her skills through various specialist fellowships, including a period in General Dermatology at the Dermatology and Venereology Unit of the Vito Fazzi Hospital in Lecce, in Paediatric Dermatology and hair and nail disorders at the Sant’Orsola-Malpighi Hospital in Bologna, and in dermoscopy of melanomas and non-melanoma skin cancers at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Ventura has been actively involved in training and scientific outreach, speaking at the IUSTI Europe #28 webinar, which focused on the use of artificial intelligence tools in scientific communication.

Her career has also been enriched by significant humanitarian experience as a medical and nursing volunteer in Ecuador, where she worked at a public clinic in Quito with the Ubelong Association.
